On Wednesday, June 10, 1998,
S/A Kim J. Skorlinski received from laboratory analyst, Harry Reed, of
the Wisconsin State Crime Laboratory, Madison (608)266-2031, a copy of
his lab report dated 06/03/98, Case No. M98-363 regarding the identification
of fingerprints.
The crime laboratory report
indicated that latent prints on this case were compared with ink fingerprints
of the following: Item CH-SANDRA MALONEY and Item CI- Kevin Krauss, DAVE
HENQUINET, MARK BURNS and REGINALD GOODMAN and for elimination, JODY PAWLAK,
ALLYN SLANG and MICHAEL SEIBERT. The lab report indicated as a result of
the examinations and comparisons, five identifications were effected. These
are items Ul-(beer bottle) right thumb of SANDRA MALONEY; Item U3-(beer
bottle) left index finger of SANDRA MALONEY; Item AL-(shower door) left
middle finger of JODY PAWLAK; Item U2-(beer bottle) right index finger
of JODY PAWLAK; and U4-(beer bottle) right ring finger of JODY PAWLAK.
The crime lab report indicates
there are two latent prints remaining on this case. Both are from Item
F (front door east). However, only one is suitable for the Automated Fingerprint
Identification System (AFIS), and this print has been searched through
AFIS with negative results.
After receiving the crime
lab report, S/A Skorlinski telephoned Analyst Reed and inquired about a
report from Reed dated 05/13/98, where he indicated there was one unidentified
latent print on one of the vodka bottles listed under Item T. Reed did
not recall this, but said he did identify one of SANDY MALONEY's fingerprints
on one vodka bottle. S/A Skorlinski confirmed this, and said this was Item
T2. Reed said he did not recall the unidentified print on the other vodka
bottle, but would check his report and then re-contact S/A Skorlinski.
Later, S/A Skorlinski was
contacted by Reed, who said the other vodka bottle, TI, did not contain
a print suitable for identification. However, what Reed could identify
appeared to be SANDY MALONEY' s.
The crime lab report will
be placed into the case file.
